dubito, ergo sum, vel, quod idem est, cogito, ergo sum
-rené descartes, discourse on the method, 1637

"i doubt, therefore i am — or what is the same — i think, therefore i am". i have always associated this quote with science, and the approach it takes to everything; oh, i'm wrong? what's the truth, then? i think the logical next step is to make it second nature to myself. i remember reading that science revolutionised the world in that sense: and it does take a whole new world to believe people who say: i will believe you, despite neither of us knowing if we're always right; but we'll find the truth if we get proven wrong. it's marvelous how something so crucial to development goes so against our natural instincts. add another possibility to fermi's paradox, how many species would develop science? and if so, do we owe just as much to curiosity, if not more, as we do to opposable thumbs and the "fourth trimester"?

"arts and crafts aren't really my wheelhouse."
"what's in your wheelhouse, then?"
"afternoon naps. (pause) breakfast."

there's no other point to this quote except that it's way too relatable. if you made it this far, please give me new songs, actually, i want to expand my music horizon, and i'm at the point where my on repeat is becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy. make a playlist with me?
