people can surprise you. you get used to thinking of them one way, stuck in their roles. they are what they are. and then, they do something that shows you there's all this depth and dimension that you never knew existed.

the only perpetual motion machine to exist is fueled by our capacity to change. we forget that we do, but we always have the chance, and the opportunity, often locked in recesses of our mind we have long since lost the map to. i once walked a different path than i usually do, finding myself lost and wandering around using my rudimentary sense of direction, before stumbling onto a road i knew. and it was fun! we can always surprise ourselves with what we have in ourselves, and what the world has for us, and it's never not worth discovering. we get used to being a certain person, and everyone sees us as that person, and it feels as if it's insurmountable to be someone else; someone that might make you happier.

the good news is: i know it never is. i am certain there will be people around that will accept change within a blink, and they are the ones you have to trust and cherish; and they will always get the privilege of seeing you as you truly are (at multiple given points in time).

you would have evolved differently, but been just as happy. you can change what you want about yourself at any time. you see yourself as someone who can't write or play an instrument, who gives in to temptation or makes bad decisions, but that's really not you. it's not ingrained. it's not your personality. your personality is something else, something deeper than just preferences, and these details on the surface, you can change anytime you like. if it is useful to do so, you must abandon your identity and start again. sometimes, it's the only way.

whenever something i feel has obvious cons to its being performed; like the possible redundancy of a statement in here, i find myself checking back to types of error. is the positive potential better than the scope of loss of conciseness? in this case, i feel it is, so:

i think it's worth knowing that change is always worth it: feel what you are, what you want to be, and do it, and it will never make you worse, and you will always feel better for it. i'm always here supporting you through it, as is everyone who cares about you :) never be scared of yourself and the potential you hold
